Professional Standards

            The goal of the Office of Professional Standards is to ensure that all complaints or allegations against the Fall River Police Department or any of its employees are investigated in a thorough, fair, and impartial manner. The rights of all citizens and employees of the Fall River Police Department shall be protected and confidentiality shall be maintained at the highest standard.  We will ensure transparent, safe, and accountable law enforcement services to the community.  The Fall River Police Department is both state and nationally accredited. 

You may file a complaint against an officer in the following ways:

  • Report the incident in person, by email, by mail or by phone to an on-duty police supervisor.

    • Police supervisors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To request to speak with a police supervisor regarding an allegation of misconduct, call 508-676-8511.​

  • Report the incident directly to the Office of Professional Standards.

    • To make a complaint directly to an investigator in the Office of Professional Standards, call 508-324-2810, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.​
      ​​

  • Report the incident to the Mayor's Office.

    • To make a complaint directly to the Mayor’s Office, call (508)-324-2000 and they will contact the police department on your behalf.​
