The Uniform Division is the largest division within the Fall River Police Department. The division consists of over 110 police officers, sergeants and lieutenants. It is divided into three Watches, which are the Day Watch, A Watch and B Watch. The division of watches allows uniformed patrols to continue operating 24 hours a day. The Watches are led by experienced and qualified lieutenants. The patrol officers are directly supervised by competent and knowledgeable sergeants.

 

The Uniform Division is the most recognizable division within the department. They are a visible deterrent to crime and disorder and when the police are called, members of the Uniform Division are the first to arrive. They are trained to professionally handle all situations they encounter and have a wide range of experience and training in dealing with a variety incidents and crises.

 

The Uniform Division strives to engage with the community they serve and make partnerships with all residents of Fall River. They follow the Fall River Police Department motto of “Service, Pride and Commitment” and constantly endeavor to reduce crime, improve quality of life in all neighborhoods and most importantly reduce the fear of crime for all. On a daily basis the men and women of the Uniform Division put forth a persistent effort to give a voice to the community and obtain legitimacy in their eyes, so we can better serve them.

 

The Uniform Division is comprised of men and women whom when called upon act with valor, courage, sensitivity and empathy. They sacrifice for each other and they sacrifice for their city, I am proud to stand beside them!
