Firearms Licensing
New Applications
Applications will only be accepted in person by the Licensing Officer on Tuesday's and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on a first come first serve basis. Applications cannot be left at the front window.
Please note: Due to the influx of License to Carry Firearms (LTC) and Firearms Identification Card (FID) applications, there may be a significant delay in receiving your license.
First time applying for a License to Carry Firearms (LTC)
You will need to bring with you:

Your driver's license or state issued identification card.

Fully completed, signed application

Application fee of $100.00, check or money order (no cash), made payable to The City of Fall River.

Two letters of reference. They must be signed and include the name, address and phone number of the person giving the reference.

A copy of your Massachusetts approved firearms training safety course certificate.

Naturalization Certificate if you are a naturalized citizen, or Green Card if you are a resident alien.
The Fall River Police Department only issues un-restricted Class A Licenses (All Lawful Purposes).
First time applying for a Firearms Identification Card (FID)
You will need to bring with you:

Your driver's license or state issued identification card.

Fully completed, signed application

Application fee of $100.00, check or money order (no cash), made payable to The City of Fall River.

A copy of your Massachusetts approved firearms-training safety course certificate.

Naturalization Certificate if you are a naturalized citizen, or Green Card if you are a resident alien.
First time applying for a Restricted Defensive Spray FID Card
Restricted Defensive Spray FID's are only issued to 15 - 17 year old's. Not required for 18+ year old.
You will need to bring with you:

Your driver's license or state issued identification card.
