Badges and Patches
Fall River Police Patches
Here are two of our
patches.. The patch with
the eagle was worn up until the late 1970's, and the other patch is still worn today.
Here is
the
prototype original order request
for the current FRPD patch from 1978, along with a letter
from the Roman
Art Company concerning this patch.
Another unique patch is the " All
American City" patch. This
photo shows the patch, which was worn for the 1976 Bi-centennial. It was worn on the right
shoulder opposite the FRPD patch.This
particular patch had an L missing in "All" and was thrown in a draw in the
Chief's office. Not many of them survived.
Antique Fall River Police Badges
This photo shows my
collection of FRPD badges worn by Police Officers and Superior Officers from
approximately 1910 till the late sixties.
This photo shows a Deputy Chief Badgeof the same time period.
The Chief, Deputies, and one Captain
still wear these antique badges for ceremonial events. These badges are all handcrafted in
gold and platinum, and the workmanship is excellent. They were appraised at over $1200
each. The current Deputies badge is shown
here.
Of course every badge has an escutcheon
. See
my collection of 1910-60s hat badges.
